Building a Series: The Big Picture

Series-Big Pic

Every Monday over at my group blog, Worlds of the Imagination, I’ll discuss topics related to building a series: The Big Picture, Setting the Theme, Building the World, Developing the Characters, and Growing the Stories. Finally I plan to close with Confessions of a Rogue Storyteller in which I’ll share the lowdown on the “You must always” rules of writing which haven’t worked for me and a few that did. I’ll also include a few “rules” garnered from conferences and successful authors that have been helpful for me. This week I’m presenting “The Big Picture” which is an overview of the process. Check it out by clicking the graphic above.

Next Monday, Developing Themes.  Later this week at Rita Bay, Ramping up for Valentine’s Day.  Rita

Interviewed by One of The Fantasy Folk & Giveaway

the healer ecoverOriginalA few months ago, a group of Champagne Book Group authors from the Champagne/Carnal Passions/BURST imprints united to host author days at Coffee Time Romance and Love Romances Café. The group – a happy mix of fantasy authors with various gifts, talents and enthusiasm – clicked and decided to form a permanent blog focused on fantasy in all its forms. The webpage is called Worlds of the Imagination and the authors are The Fantasy Folk. I blog on Mondays on fantasy.

Occasionally, we visit among our individual blogs. Today, I’m visiting Dani Collins who is an RWA Golden Heart Finalist, a Romantic Times American Title Finalist, and the author of several books across genre. Check out Dani’s The Healer which is published by Champagne Books while you’re visiting.  I’ll explain my unique method of writing (some might call it bizarre) and answer some bio questions. Click Dani’s hot cover to read my interview and comment to enter the giveaway of The Aegis.

A Last Venus/Aphrodite Figure

We’ve celebratedVenusfig the many faces of Aphrodite as part of the buildup to the release of my first erotic romance story. Her Teddy Bare is a short story in the Aphrodite’s Island series which will be released on May 6th (Read a blurb and excerpt by clicking the cover on the left.)

The last Aphrodite is actually a Venus figure. It’s over 30.000 years old and not as beautiful as most we have seen the last two weeks.  The many Venus figures from Western Europe are some of the earliest art found with the oldest being around 40,000 years old. The purpose could be religious, apotropaic (good luck figure), or for fertility. Read more about it and creating scifi/fantasy worlds today at my new group blog, Worlds of the Imagination HERE.

Tomorrow, The search for Aphrodite’s Island begins.
