A Salute to “Spring”

La Primavera
“La Primavera,” or Spring, was named by Vasari in 1550. It’s a tempera panel painting that was painted around 1482 by Sandro Botticelli. The painting, one of the most famous in the world, was probably produced for the Medici family of Florence. It’s an allegory for the spring season filled with mythological figures in a garden. Each element could be a masterpiece alone. This week, while I finish taxes and edits, I’ll share the stories behind each of the elements. Until tomorrow,
Junk
