St. Kitt’s – Aphrodite’s Island?

Kitt

Saint Kitts, formally known as Saint Christopher Island is an island in the West Indies, one of the Leeward Islands in the Lesser Antilles. The west side of the island borders the Caribbean Sea, and the eastern coast faces the Atlantic Ocean. Saint KittsĀ and the neighboring island of Nevis form one country: the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis. Originally discovered by Columbus and claimed for Spain and alternated under the control of England and France.
The volcanic island lies 1,300 miles southeast of Miami, Florida. It is about 65 sq mi, and is 18 miles long and about 5 mi across. The population is about 35,000, most of whom are mainly of African descent. Tobacco and, later, sugar based on a slave economy were the main products but later gave way to tourism in this century. Couldn’t possibly be Aphrodite’s Island as it is too small and public and Aphrodite needs privacy. Tomorrow, another island. Rita
